Archetype Submission - Unknown Hero (15 Unscripted Cards)  (Read 7671 times)

And now they're all lower case. Just because I can, I'm gonna make Hero a thing from now on.
Expect new Hero subarchs with g r e a t gimmicks like this in the future

Unknown Heroes, a secretive division in charge of silently uprooting criminal organizations and shutting them down. These guys rely on Ritual Summoning, and then using their Rituals to Synchro Summon if their strength still can't beat the enemy. Let's have a look:

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Yes, I'm serious about making "Hero" an arch and having this as one of its subarchs. One for each attribute will appear and all of them will have really odd gimmicks. Oh, and as an actual note, some of the art may still say "HERO" in the effects. Ignore this, they're "Hero", not "HERO".

Monsters:

During your Main Phase, you can reveal 1 other "Hero" monster in your hand: Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Unknown Hero" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Unknown Hero Watchful". If this card is used as a Material for the Synchro Summon of a "Unknown Hero" monster: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; negate it effects. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Watchful" once per turn.



If this card is Normal Summoned; you can Set 1 "Unknown Hero" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your Spell/Trap Zone. If this card is Tributed for the Ritual Summon of a "Unknown Hero" Ritual Monster; you can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Whisperer" once per turn.



During either player's Battle Phase, if a "Unknown Hero" monster you control battles (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; that monster cannot be destroyed by battle until the End Phase, also neither player takes battle damage from that battle. If you Normal Summon a "Unknown Hero" Tuner monster while this card is in your GY, except "Unknown Hero Cloak"; you can Special Summon this card from your GY, but place it on the top of your Deck when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Cloak" once per turn.



During your Main Phase: If you control a "Unknown Hero" monster while this card is in your hand, except "Unknown Hero Weaver"; you can Special Summon this card in face-up Defense Position. If this card is Tributed for the Ritual Summon of a "Unknown Hero" Ritual Monster; you can add 1 "Unknown Hero" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Weaver" once per turn.



You can only Ritual Summon this card with "Unknown Hero Calling Card". If this card is Ritual Summoned: You can shuffle 2 "Unknown Hero" cards with different names from your hand or GY into your Deck; banish 1 random card in your opponent's hand, face-down. You can only activate this effect of "Unknown Hero Espionaga" once per turn. If this card is used as a Material for the Synchro Summon of a "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster, it gains the following effect.
*Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 other "Unknown Hero" monster you control; banish 1 random card from your opponent's hand face-down, until the End Phase.



You can only Ritual Summon this card with "Unknown Hero Calling Card". If this card is Ritual Summoned: Your opponent must keep their hand revealed until the end of your next turn. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Planesight" once per turn. Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Unknown Hero" monster; Special Summon 1 "Unknown Hero" monster from your GY, but its effects are negated. If this card is used as a Material for the Synchro Summon of a "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster, that monster gains the following effect.
*Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 other "Hero" monster you control: Your opponent must keep their hand revealed until the end of your next turn.



You can only Ritual Summon this card with "Unknown Hero Calling Card". If this card is Ritual Summoned; you can Special Summon 1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner monster from your hand or GY. During your Battle Phase: You can discard 1 "Unknown Hero" monster; this card can attack your opponent directly. Other monsters you control cannot attack the turn you activate this effect. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Swiftread" once per turn. If this card is used as a Material for the Synchro Summon of a "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster, it gains the following effect.
*Once per turn, during your Battle Phase: You can banish 1 "Hero" monster from your GY; this card can attack your opponent directly.


Spells:

This card is used to Ritual Summon any "Unknown Hero" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute "Hero" non-Ritual monsters you control, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the monster you Ritual Summon. If you control a "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster, you can also Tribute "Unknown Hero" monsters in your hand. If you Synchro Summon a "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster while this card is in your GY; you can Set this card. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Calling Card" once per turn.



Discard 1 "Unknown Hero" monster; draw 2 cards. If you discarded a "Unknown Hero" Ritual Monster by this effect, you can add 2 "Hero" monsters, including at least 1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner monster, with different names from your Deck or GY to your hand, instead. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Sponsor" once per turn.



Tribute 1 "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster or Ritual Monster you control; Special Summon as many "Hero" monsters from your hand or GY as possible, whose total Levels equal exactly that monster's Level (min. 2), and if you do, those monsters gain ATK equal to half of the original ATK of that Tributed monster. You can only activate 1 "Unknown Hero Reinforcements" per turn.


Trap:

During either player's Battle Phase, if you control no monsters, reveal 1 Level 11 or lower "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster in your Extra Deck: Banish, from your GY, "Unknown Hero" monsters, including exactly 1 Ritual Monster, whose total Levels equal exactly that monster's Level; Special Summon that target, and if you do, your opponent takes no damage for the rest of this turn. (This Special Summon is treated as Synchro Summon.) You can only activate 1 "Unknown Hero Origin" per turn.


Extra Deck:

1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner + 1 "Unknown Hero" non-Tuner Ritual Monster
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can add 1 card from your hand to your opponent's hand; draw 2 cards. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card; add 1 "Unknown Hero" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck or GY to your hand. If this card leaves the field; draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Courier" once per turn.



1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner + 1 "Unknown Hero" non-Tuner Ritual Monster
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy as many of your opponent's Set cards as possible, up to the number of "Unknown Hero" monsters you control. If this card battles an opponent's monster: you can discard 1 "Unknown Hero" monster (Quick Effect); this card gains ATK equal to half of the ATK of that opponent's monster until the end of the Battle Phase. If this card is destroyed by battle or by a card effect: You can target 1 "Unknown Hero" Ritual Monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated, also banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Unknown Hero Night Raider" once per turn.



1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner + 1 "Unknown Hero" non-Tuner Ritual Monster
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can give control of this card to your opponent. While the owner of this card controls this card, its original ATK becomes 3000, also it cannot be destroyed by card effects. While the opponent of the owner of this card controls this card, this card cannot attack, change its battle position, be Tributed, or be used as a material for the Summon of a monster in the Extra Deck. If this card in its owner's control is destroyed by battle; your opponent cannot activate the effects of Spell or Trap Cards for the rest of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Infiltraitor" once per turn.



1 "Unknown Hero" Tuner + 1 "Unknown Hero" non-Tuner Ritual Monster
Must be Synchro Summoned. If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can reveal 1 "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monster in your Extra Deck, except "Unknown Hero Corvus"; until the end of your next turn, this card gains that monster's effects. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Corvus" once per turn. Up to twice per turn: You can Tribute 1 other "Unknown Hero" monster you control (Quick Effect); destroy 1 card your opponent controls. If this card leaves the field: You can pay half of your LP; Special Summon, from your Extra Deck, 2 "Unknown Hero" Synchro Monsters with different names from each other, except "Unknown Hero Corvus", but they cannot attack your opponent directly. You can only use this effect of "Unknown Hero Corvus" once per turn.

EDIT 1: I found images for all of them that I'm more or less happy with. (They're all just existing YGO arts with a filter, except 2 arts which are fan-arts with a filter.)

EDIT 2: I edited some of the effects so that they can interact with other HERO monsters, mainly so that they have a reason to be named HERO, and also to try and fix their inconsistencies. (Namely not being able to use their monsters for anything if you don't have a Ritual Monster in your hand, which to be fair is my fault for not making it easier to get the Rituals into your hand in the first place.)

EDIT 3: All monsters and effects have changed from HERO to Hero.

(I'm legit making a "Hero" revolution don't even @ me)
