Archives / Archetype Submission - Pionear
« on: July 16, 2018, 11:52:39 am »Description:
Pionear started as a simple mental exercise. As I heard people discuss the future of the game, the realization that no one really knows what the future of yugioh holds slowly dawned on me. In recognition of this, I designed Pionear to be a take on what someone from 2006 would expect a deck from 2018 to be. It's power comes from odd places, with cards intended to be used with cards such as metamorphosis instead finding themselves equally as well used with Linkuriboh. The result is a fairly standard Chaos OTK deck with as much modern styling as it has antique charm. Check out the Imgur album here:

Advantages:
Pionear has great offensive power. Cards like Devastation Walker can easily push 10,000 attack given the right opportunity, and Battle Platform makes short work of most fields.
Disadvantages:
Being a mill deck, Pionear tends to be a bit on the bricky side, and can be easily interrupted before it gets the GY setup it wants. Additionally, the deck lacks any sort of interruption capability, and has fairly thin defenses.
